Located in east central Indiana, Blackford County is less than 10 miles from three interchanges with Interstate 69 – a critical connector to other interstates, placing major cities and 80% of the US population within just one day’s drive.  The county is traversed by state highways 3, 18, and 26 which provide access to other interstate highways, larger population centers, and educational institutions.

Blackford County is also served by two railroads – a Norfolk Southern Class 1 line (running north-south) as well as a short line, operated by the Central Railroad Company of Indianapolis/Genesee & Wyoming (serving the industrial park in Hartford City and running approximately 15 miles west to connect to Norfolk Southern).
